VARIOflex
The VARIOflex abutment meets a variety of clinical requirements and stands for flexibility in the selection and design of prosthetic restorations.
The VARIOflex abutment can be used for both screw-retained and cemented restorations. Thanks to its slim and solid design, this abutment is suitable for both the posterior and the esthetically demanding anterior region.
The CAD/CAM-compatible abutments can be adapted to the clinical situation and material-specific requirements. The CAD/CAM library offers the selection of different cylinder heights with only one abutment during the manufacturing process. The abutments have been specially developed for restorations with plastic, pressable ceramics and zirconium oxide and offer the best possible support - both for long or high superstructures and for deeper-set implants.
CAD/CAM libraries are available for the VARIOflex abutment. For detailed information, please refer to the corresponding instructions for use.

Titanium Base for CAD/CAM
The Titanium Base for CAD/CAM Solutions makes it possible to create individually manufactured abutments. The Titanium Base allows for digital CAD/CAM fabrication.
The Titanium Base data files can be downloaded by your laboratory from the CAD/CAM library on the Thommen website and are thus available to all users of an open-source CAD/CAM system. The 3D data for the Thommen Titanium Base for CAD/CAM are also already integrated into the libraries of various CAD/CAM manufacturers.

Benefits at a Glance
- Efficient digital manufacturing.
- Individual emergence profiles.
- Tooth-coloured abutment-crown transitions.
- Cemented or screw-retained crown and bridge restorations possible.
Milling Abutment for CAD/CAM type II
The Milling Abutment for CAD/CAM type II makes it possible to create individually manufactured abutments.
The milled abutment for CAD/CAM type II is machined in the Original Medentika® PreFace Abutment Holder in a suitable milling system. PreFace Abutment Holders can be ordered directly from the milling machine manufacturer. You can also obtain information on the use of the Medentika® PreFace Abutment Holder from your milling machine manufacturer.

Benefits at a Glance
- In-house production - the added value remains with you
- Individual abutments with original Thommen Medical implant connection.
- Efficient production - serial processing of six blanks without reclamping.
VARIO
VARIO gold abutments allow the fabrication of screw-retained reconstructions or individual abutments as the basis for cemented solutions.
They consist of a cast-on gold cap (non-oxidizing, high-fusing precious metal alloy) and a cylindrical abutment for the screw channel (made of plastic that can be burnt out without residue). The minimum overall height of the VARIO abutments allows for versatile use, particularly in cases where space is limited. The shortenable plastic cylinder allows precise, simple and fast modelling of the basic shape.
Instructions for use - VARIO - THM61134
Benefits at a Glance
- Prefabricated connection geometry and screw seat made of high-gold cast-on alloy.
- Fabrication of individual abutments possible.
- Direct connection to the implant, no intermediate parts necessary.
- Can also be used in cases of limited occlusal space due to the minimum overall height.
- Available with hexagon for crowns and with cone for bridges.
VARIO 17°
The 17° angled VARIO abutments are ideal for occlusally screw-retained single-tooth restorations with a pronounced angulation of the implant axis in relation to the planned prosthetics. Smaller bridge restorations are also possible if a suitable insertion direction is considered.
The abutments are available in two different taper orientations with respect to the hexagon to allow for optimal abutment alignment. The prefabricated cast-on gold alloy screw seat ensures a precise connection between the final prosthetics and the abutment.
Benefits at a Glance
- Axial angulation of up to 17° can be managed.
- Two abutment versions for an exact alignment.
- Prefabricated gold alloy screw seat for optimal precision.
- Can be combined with existing VARIO Abutments for bridge.
VARIOmulti
STRAIGHT / ANGLED 17° AND 30°
VARIOmulti abutments offer a solution for the realization of an implant-supported screw-retained, temporary or definitive multi-unit bridge restoration with more than two implants.
The VARIOmulti system has a complete range of tertiary components (scan abutments, impression copings, temporary coping, adhesive bases and many more) for the conventional and digital workflow.
Matched original components make all the difference in terms of quality, application and precision when fabricating a restoration for the partially edentulous or edentulous patient. This time- and cost-efficient process gives you the opportunity to customize the procedure so that all parties involved (dentist, dental technician and patient) benefit.
Benefits at a Glance
- Ideal for a multi-unit bridge in case of large implant divergences - The angled abutments and the conical geometry ensure a tension-free and accurately fitting prosthetic insertion
- Extensive range - Select the ideal components according to the procedure (digital or conventional)
- CAD/CAM access - Take advantage of access to high-quality materials for high-quality and esthetic treatment results
- Optimized for digital application, through components designed specifically for digital application
- Matched original components - Make the difference in terms of quality, application and precision when fabricating a restoration
- Compatibility with MONO instruments - Access to familiar reliable auxiliary instruments
Benefits at a Glance
- All-ceramic aesthetics from the implant shoulder.
- Biocompatibility and low plaque accumulation.
- Highest precision and reliable mechanical strength.
- Available in two different basic shapes.
