Aestetics in Implant Dentistry: A biological Perspective.
Dr. A. Fonzar, Dr. M. Merli

Mon, June 15th, 2020 6:00 - 7:00 PM CEST (Zürich) / 12:00 - 01:00 PM EST (New York) - Aestetics in Implant Dentistry: A biological Perspective. Speaker: Dr. A. Fonzar, Moderation: Dr. M. Merli.

Details: The integration of restorative and cosmetic dentistry principles into the discipline of implant dentistry has allowed for esthetic implant restorations to be achieved on a more predictable basis. Marginal soft tissue stability is considered to be a significant factor for achieving any esthetic outcome with implant‐ supported restorations for which a stable architecture of the peri‐implant soft tissues plays a pivotal role in the esthetic outcome. Achieving an esthetic outcome is always a new challenge to the clinician because peri‐implant tissue stability depends on many factors: biologic width, tissue phenotype, labial plate of bone thickness, alveolar crest height, prosthetic margins design but also other technical factors might affect peri‐implant tissue stability such as the diameter of the implant used, the use of provisional restorations, the placement and timing of the final restoration delivery, and a lack of clinical experience.

The lecturer will share his personal experience in dealing with aesthetics in implant dentistry by using a biological approach. Attendees will be able to participate in a live Q&A session following the presentation.
